FOREO IRIS 2 Review: 14 Days of Brighter Eyes, Fewer Bags & Softer Fine Lines
If under-eye bags, dark circles, fine lines, or tired-looking eyes make you look more exhausted than you actually feel, you may be interested in the FOREO IRIS 2.
I have been using the FOREO IRIS 2 myself, and it has become one of those beauty devices that I genuinely enjoy using because it doesn’t require a huge time commitment. The entire treatment takes about a minute, and I can easily fit it into my regular skincare routine.
What impressed me most was the difference I began noticing around my eyes. In my experience, my under-eye area looked less puffy, my dark circles appeared reduced, and my eyes looked more refreshed. I started noticing a difference at around the two-week mark, and the results continued to improve with consistent use.
FOREO describes the IRIS 2 as a rejuvenating eye massager designed to address common concerns around the eyes, including under-eye bags, dark circles, fine lines, and crow’s feet. The device combines a gentle tapping motion with T-Sonic™ pulsations to massage the eye contour.
This is my FOREO IRIS 2 review, including what it does, the improvements I noticed, what’s included, how to use it, and which skincare products I think work best with it.
What Is the FOREO IRIS 2?
The FOREO IRIS 2 is a rechargeable eye massager designed specifically for the delicate skin around the eyes.
Unlike many facial devices that require several minutes of treatment time, the IRIS 2 is designed for a very quick routine. FOREO’s instructions call for 30 seconds on one eye followed by 30 seconds on the other. The device has a built-in timer to help you know when it is time to switch sides.
The device uses two types of movement:
- Acupressure-style tapping: Inspired by fingertip tapping techniques and designed to help refresh the eye area and reduce the appearance of puffiness and dark circles.
- T-Sonic™ pulsations: Gentle vibrations that massage the eye contour and are intended to improve the appearance of radiance, fine lines, and firmness.
The intensity can be adjusted using the plus and minus buttons, so you can find a setting that feels comfortable for your skin.

What Does the FOREO IRIS 2 Improve?
One of the things I like about the FOREO IRIS 2 is that it isn’t simply marketed as a general eye massager. FOREO specifically designed it to target several of the concerns that become more noticeable around the eyes as we get older, including dark circles, under-eye bags, puffiness, fine lines, crow’s feet, and loss of firmness and elasticity.
According to FOREO, third-party clinical and consumer trials found measurable improvements in several of these areas. These results are separate from my own experience, but they help explain what the device is designed to do.
1. Helps Reduce the Appearance of Dark Circles
Dark circles are one of the first things I notice when I’m tired, and they can make the entire face look less rested.
The FOREO IRIS 2 uses a gentle finger-tapping acupressure massage around the eye contour. FOREO says this treatment helped reduce the appearance of dark circles by 70% in its third-party clinical testing.
FOREO also reports a 50% increase in eye-contour radiance, which is especially interesting if your concern is that the skin around your eyes looks dull or tired.
For me, this is one of the improvements I appreciate most. With regular use, my under-eye area looks brighter and my dark circles appear less noticeable.
FOREO-reported results: 70% reduction in the appearance of dark circles and 50% increase in eye-contour radiance, based on third-party clinical trials.
2. Helps Reduce Under-Eye Bags and Puffiness
If under-eye bags are one of your biggest concerns, this is where I have personally noticed a difference with the IRIS 2.
FOREO reports that the IRIS 2 reduces the appearance of under-eye bags by 3.5 times in its third-party clinical testing. In addition, 84% of consumers reported that their eyes looked more refreshed after using the device.
The treatment takes only about 60 seconds, making it particularly easy to use when your eyes look tired or puffy in the morning.
I like that aspect of the IRIS 2 because I don’t have to set aside a large amount of time for an eye treatment. One minute is enough to give my eye area a quick massage before I continue with the rest of my skincare routine.
FOREO-reported results: 3.5x reduction in the appearance of under-eye bags, with 84% of consumers reporting refreshed-looking eyes, based on third-party clinical and consumer trials.
3. Helps Firm the Under-Eye Area
As we get older, the skin around the eyes naturally becomes thinner and can lose some of its firmness and elasticity.
This is another area FOREO specifically tested with the IRIS 2.
According to FOREO, the device helped improve the firmness of the skin under the eyes by 51%. In addition, 80% of users reported increased elasticity around the eye contour.
This doesn’t mean the device can physically tighten loose skin in the same way as a medical or surgical treatment. Rather, these results refer to improvements in the appearance and measured characteristics of the eye contour reported in FOREO’s testing.
For mature skin, I think this is an important benefit because the eye area can start to look less smooth and firm as we age.
FOREO-reported results: 51% improvement in under-eye firmness, with 80% of users reporting increased eye-contour elasticity, based on third-party clinical and consumer trials.
4. Helps Smooth Fine Lines and Crow’s Feet
Fine lines and crow’s feet are another common concern around the eyes.
The IRIS 2 combines its tapping massage with T-Sonic™ pulsations. FOREO says this massage helps relax the eye muscles and improve blood flow, while the treatment is designed to help smooth the appearance of fine lines and crow’s feet.
According to FOREO’s reported clinical results, the IRIS 2 reduced the appearance of crow’s feet and fine lines by 43%.
Even more impressive, FOREO reports an 80% improvement in overall eye-contour smoothness.
This is one reason I think the IRIS 2 works particularly well as part of a larger anti-aging skincare routine. I don’t see it as a replacement for ingredients such as retinoids, peptides, antioxidants, or hydrating ingredients. Instead, it’s a device that can complement the products you’re already using.
FOREO-reported results: 43% reduction in the appearance of crow’s feet and fine lines and an 80% improvement in eye-contour smoothness, based on third-party clinical testing.
5. Helps Eyes Look More Refreshed
Sometimes the goal isn’t necessarily to make a particular wrinkle disappear. You simply want your eyes to look less tired.
That’s one of my favorite things about the FOREO IRIS 2.
The treatment takes approximately one minute, and the combination of gentle tapping and T-Sonic™ pulsations gives the eye area a relaxing massage. FOREO reports that 84% of consumers noticed more refreshed-looking eyes.
I can relate to that result. After using my IRIS 2, my eyes look less tired and my under-eye area looks more awake.
For me, that’s a meaningful benefit because it doesn’t require a complicated routine or a significant time commitment.

My FOREO IRIS 2 Review
The clinical numbers are interesting, but what matters most to me is what I actually see when I look in the mirror.
I began noticing a difference after approximately two weeks of regular use. My under-eye bags appeared less noticeable, my dark circles looked reduced, and the area around my eyes looked more refreshed.
The improvement didn’t stop at two weeks. With continued use, I noticed the results continued to improve.
Of course, my results are my own experience and aren’t a guarantee that everyone will see the same changes. Factors such as age, genetics, skin type, sleep, hydration, and the cause of your dark circles or under-eye bags can all affect results.
For me, though, the combination of a one-minute treatment and noticeable improvement around my eyes is what has made me continue using the IRIS 2.

How Long Does the FOREO IRIS 2 Treatment Take?
This is one of my favorite things about the device.
Only about one minute.
FOREO recommends gently gliding the device around one eye for 30 seconds and then repeating the process on the other eye. The built-in timer pauses to indicate when you should switch sides.
That makes it much easier to stay consistent.
I think this matters more than people sometimes realize. A skincare device can have impressive technology, but if using it requires 20 minutes every day, many of us simply won’t stick with it.
The IRIS 2 takes about a minute.
That’s easy.

How to Use the FOREO IRIS 2
Using the IRIS 2 is very simple.
Step 1: Start With Clean Skin
Begin with a clean, dry face.
You can use the device by itself, but I prefer using it with an eye serum or eye cream.
FOREO says that eye care products are optional, although the device is designed to enhance the absorption of skincare products applied around the eye area.
Step 2: Apply Your Eye Serum or Eye Cream
Apply a small amount of your preferred eye product around the eye contour.
You want enough product to allow the device to glide comfortably without pulling at the skin.
Don’t use an excessive amount. A small amount is usually enough.
Step 3: Turn on the IRIS 2
Press the universal button to turn the device on.
Use the plus and minus buttons to adjust the intensity to a comfortable level.
If you prefer, you can turn off the T-Sonic™ pulsations while continuing to use the tapping motion.
Step 4: Treat the First Eye
Place the device gently under the inner corner of your eye.
Glide it slowly along the eye contour for approximately 30 seconds.
There should never be painful pressure or aggressive rubbing.
Step 5: Repeat on the Other Eye
Once the timer indicates that it is time to switch, repeat the process on the other eye.
That’s it.
Your entire eye treatment takes about one minute.
Where Should You Use the FOREO IRIS 2?
The device is designed for the under-eye area and brow bone.
It should not be used directly on the eyelid or eyeball. FOREO specifically warns against applying the device to the eyelid or eyeball.
Use gentle pressure and let the device glide across the skin rather than pressing hard.
If you have a serious eye condition or a medical skin concern, FOREO recommends consulting a physician before using the device. If using it causes discomfort, stop using it.
What Products Should You Use With the FOREO IRIS 2?
One of the things I like about the IRIS 2 is that you don’t have to purchase a special skincare product to use it.
FOREO says the device can be used with any eye care cosmetic, including eye serums and eye creams.
However, I would choose your product based on the particular concern you’re trying to address.
For Dark Circles
Look for eye products containing ingredients such as:
- Vitamin C
- Niacinamide
- Caffeine
- Peptides
- Antioxidants
These ingredients can complement a routine focused on improving the appearance of a dull or tired-looking eye area.
For Fine Lines
For an anti-aging eye routine, look for:
- Retinol or a gentle retinoid formulated for the eye area
- Peptides
- Antioxidants
- Hydrating ingredients
If you use a retinol eye product, follow the product’s directions carefully because the skin around the eyes can be particularly sensitive.
For Dry Under-Eyes
If dryness is your primary concern, look for ingredients such as:
- Hyaluronic acid
- Glycerin
- Ceramides
- Squalane
- Peptides
A hydrating eye serum or cream can also make fine lines look less noticeable by improving the skin’s moisture level.

My Favorite Type of Product to Use With It
For daytime use, I like a lightweight, hydrating eye serum or cream that allows the IRIS 2 to glide easily over the skin.
At night, I prefer a richer eye cream or an anti-aging eye treatment.
The important thing is that the product provides enough slip for the device to move comfortably across the delicate eye area.
Can You Use the FOREO IRIS 2 With Retinol?
Yes, you can use the IRIS 2 as part of a skincare routine that includes retinol, but I would be cautious about combining the device with a strong retinol product if your skin is sensitive.
Retinol can cause dryness and irritation, especially when you first introduce it.
If you’re already using a retinol eye product without irritation, you can incorporate the IRIS 2 according to the product’s directions. If you experience sensitivity, consider using the device with a gentle hydrating eye product instead.
For anyone new to retinol, I would introduce one change at a time rather than starting several new products simultaneously.
Can the FOREO IRIS 2 Help With Eye Bags Permanently?
This is where expectations are important.
The IRIS 2 can help improve the appearance of under-eye bags, puffiness, and dark circles, but it cannot permanently eliminate every type of under-eye bag.
Some under-eye bags are caused by fluid retention and puffiness, while others are related to genetics, fat pads, skin laxity, or changes that occur naturally with aging.
A massage device can be useful for improving the appearance of puffiness, but it isn’t a permanent solution for structural changes around the eyes.
For me, the goal is simple: make my eyes look less tired and puffy, and the IRIS 2 has done that.
How Often Should You Use the FOREO IRIS 2?
FOREO’s IRIS 2 instructions describe the device as a quick daily eye massage, with each treatment taking approximately one minute.
The most important thing from my perspective is consistency.
I’d rather use a device for one minute regularly than purchase something that requires a complicated routine and then leave it sitting in a drawer.
That’s another reason the IRIS 2 works so well for me.
How Do You Clean the FOREO IRIS 2?
Cleaning the device is easy.
After using it, wash the device with soap and warm water and dry it with a lint-free cloth or towel. FOREO also recommends its silicone cleaning spray as an additional cleaning option.
Avoid cleaning products containing alcohol, petrol, or acetone because they can damage the silicone or irritate the skin.
Because the device is waterproof and made from bacteria-resistant silicone, it is particularly convenient for regular use.
FOREO IRIS 2 vs. Using Your Fingers
You might be wondering whether you really need an electronic eye massager when you could simply massage your eye area with your fingers.
That’s a fair question.
The biggest difference for me is consistency.
The IRIS 2 gives me a controlled, repeatable massage in about a minute. I don’t have to remember a particular massage technique or spend several minutes manually tapping around my eyes.
FOREO’s clinical information reports that the IRIS treatment was more effective than the comparison treatment used in its study for several eye-area concerns, including under-eye bags, dark circles, and eye-contour smoothness.
Is the FOREO IRIS 2 Worth It?
For me, yes.
The biggest reason isn’t that I expect it to completely erase every sign of aging around my eyes.
It’s because it does several things I actually want from a beauty device:
- It takes about one minute.
- It’s easy to use.
- It feels relaxing.
- It fits easily into my existing skincare routine.
- I noticed visible improvements after about two weeks.
- My under-eye bags look less noticeable.
- My dark circles appear reduced.
- My eyes look more refreshed.
- The results continue to improve when I use it consistently.
And perhaps most importantly, I actually use it.
That last point matters.
A complicated beauty device isn’t much use if it sits in a bathroom cabinet because you don’t have time for it.
The IRIS 2 is quick enough that I don’t have that excuse.

My Final Thoughts on the FOREO IRIS 2
After using the FOREO IRIS 2 myself, I think it is particularly appealing for women who are bothered by under-eye puffiness, dark circles, fine lines, and a generally tired-looking eye area.
My favorite result has been the improvement in the appearance of my under-eye bags and dark circles. I began seeing a difference after approximately two weeks, and continued regular use has made the improvement more noticeable.
I also love how little time it takes.
A full treatment takes about one minute, which makes it easy to use in the morning before applying makeup or at night as part of my skincare routine.
FOREO’s own clinical and consumer-reported results support improvements in several of the same areas I noticed personally, including under-eye bags, dark circles, smoothness, firmness, texture, and the appearance of crow’s feet.
For me, the FOREO IRIS 2 has earned a permanent place in my skincare routine because it is one of those rare beauty devices that combines quick treatment time, easy use, and noticeable results.
If your biggest concerns are tired-looking eyes, puffiness, under-eye bags, or dark circles, this is definitely a device worth considering.
